Ruth Lowry

Background and experience
Ruth is a chartered accountant and spent the first half of her career with PwC (Price Waterhouse Coopers) and its predecessor firms in London, the East Midlands and the North West.
She focused on public service audit and advisory work, working with a range of organisations, including housing associations, charities, further and higher education institutions, and NHS bodies.
More recently, Ruth has worked as Lancashire County Council’s Head of Internal Audit, and whilst there, she worked closely with both the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
She has been a member of the governing body of the University of Central Lancashire since 2018 and has chaired its Audit Committee since 2019. She was appointed to the Board of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust as a Non-Executive Director in April 2021 and has chaired its Audit Committee since October 2021.
Skills
Experience in strategic and operational risk management and legal/regulatory compliance. Understands and has direct experience with risk frameworks and approaches to risk mitigation.
