Background and experience

Jacqui has worked for community-based, regional, and national housing organisations for 40 years in housing. Her passion for housing is driven by her belief that everyone has the right to a decent place to live and a place to call home. Jacqui has a strong ethos supporting tenant involvement, challenging inequality, and enabling excellent customer service. She promotes high professional standards and has been a housing lecturer at the University of Salford, a leadership team leader with the Industrial Society, a mentor with the Housing Diversity Network, and a leadership presenter at Lancaster University.

Skills

Jacqui has Housing and Psychology degrees and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing. She has strong corporate governance and business experience, predominantly in the social housing sector but also in public and private sectors. Her specialist skills are in leading large organisations, enabling change and innovation, facilitating strong, commercial and social businesses, engaging customers in the business and driving high levels of customer service. She is experienced in growth initiatives, financial and risk management, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, marketing and communications, technology, human relations and health and safety.

Jacqui has held a number of voluntary board member roles in a range of organisations, including a training and development company, an enterprise agency, a children’s day centre, the YMCA and several housing associations.

Personal Interests

Jacqui enjoys keeping fit, walking outdoors, and raising money for local charities.
