Tola Adesemowo

Background and experience:

Tola is proud to have worked in housing for 29 years.   Her first role after graduating with a BA (Hons) In Applied Community Studies was as a generic Housing Officer.  She has undertaken a variety of housing management roles since and after achieving her MSc In Housing Practice became the lead manager for an Audit Commission Inspection and subsequently Continuous Improvement.  She has led on a number of transformation programmes and particularly enjoys working with tenants on improvement initiatives.  She is a strong advocate of partnership working and has worked with a variety of partners including developers, local authorities and government agencies to develop and deliver services and programmes that enhance the housing offer.  She has 5 years service at Progress and has been Director of Housing Operations since July 2024.

Skills:

Tola has a strong passion for equality, diversity and inclusion and was the founding chair of the Roots Network at Progress Housing Group, where she continues to champion equality issues.  She is proud to have used her extensive experience to guide and mentor people on their journeys both within and outside of the sector, and was honoured to be part of the Sense mentoring programme with Manchester Active Voices, mentoring young women.   She is a certified NLP practitioner  and has completed the Leadership for Housing Programme in conjunction with the National Housing Federation and the University of Lancaster.
